regarding certain things brought up:
Killrights: don't bother, just fight back. most pirates are outlaw anyways, so they can be attacked anywhere anytime without sentry guns interfering. once they become outlaw, they also won't be going to high sec anymore unless in an alt or VERY fast ship with insta's.
The hauler trap: if your entire gang is in system, the pirate won't often take the bait unless he's confident he can get a kill and get out before the fleet arrives (which isnt hard, believe me). it'd be better if you kept your fleet one jump out on the gate, then once the hauler has the pirate pinned down, warp the fleet in.
Warp Stab's: as a pirate, i can safely say, DON'T. unless you like having 5+ pirates coming in to make sure you stay put
Camping station\gate: if you honestly expect a pirate to undock when he knows theres a gang out there to kill him... think again. i, for one, have no problems logging in station when theres a blob that wants me dead
Autopilot: yea, sure, go for it. it'll warp you off.... eventualy. the autopilot rather sucks at this, so use it at your own risk. a better way: when your in structure, look for something you can warp to on your screen and click it. on your overiew, you'll see a warp to button. begin spamming that when your about to die. your pod will warp off almost instantly when your ship is destroyed if you keep spamming the warp button on your overview.
Flying away when scrammed: simply put, this isnt gonna work. most pirates that work solo will have close range setups, and that means webifiers. use your cap to tank instead, rather than trying to get away. the pirates that don't work solo will have tacklers with them, and that means webbers. hint: most pirates in general that arnt gate sniping will have close range setups. keep that in mind.
and thats about it, everything else in the guide was great. one final note to carebears though: if you are ransomed, JUST PAY IT, unless it's like 10 mill for your Bantam. 99% of pirates will let you go once you've paid. and if they don't, name and shame them on the forums, and they'll be out of business very quick.
.... i should have kept my mouth shut, now i'll never catch anyone in a belt
Don't worry, your sig is safe...wait...oops. --Jorauk |
